Known Issues & Support

devOS is extensively tested across supported Intel Mac hardware. At this time, there are no major known issues affecting the core devOS experience on validated configurations.

Core functionality including Wi-Fi, audio, trackpad, display output, and clamshell mode has been verified working on tested hardware. The Hardware Compatibility page lists validated configurations.

Before Reporting an Issue

Confirm your Mac is supported. devOS is designed for Intel-based Mac computers from 2013 or newer. Apple Silicon Macs are not currently supported.
Verify you are on the latest release. Run sudo pacman -Syu to ensure all packages are current.
Restart the system. A clean boot resolves many transient issues.
Reproduce the issue. Confirm the problem occurs consistently before reporting.
Identify the scope. Determine whether the issue is related to devOS configuration or to a specific hardware component.

Reporting an Issue

If you have identified a reproducible issue, please report it on the devOS GitHub Issues page.

A useful issue report includes:

Mac model and year (e.g., "MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2017")
devOS version (cat /etc/devos-release)
Kernel version (uname -r)
Hardware component affected (e.g., Wi-Fi, audio, trackpad, display)
Exact steps to reproduce the problem
What you expected to happen
What actually happened
Relevant logs: journalctl -b -p err output
Whether the issue occurs consistently or intermittently

Scope of Support

devOS support covers:

Installation on supported hardware
Core system functionality (boot, networking, audio, graphics)
Trackpad and keyboard input
External display and clamshell behavior
Preconfigured development environment

Support does not currently extend to:

Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3)
Mac Mini or Mac Studio
Third-party software not bundled with devOS
Hardware modifications or non-Apple peripherals
