Installation Guide
⚠️ Before installing: Installing an operating system can modify or erase data on your internal drive. Back up anything important before proceeding.
Supported Hardware
devOS is designed for Intel-based Mac computers. Apple Silicon Macs are not currently supported.
Installation Steps
- Download the devOS ISO
- Create bootable installation media
- Boot your Mac from USB
- Connect to Wi-Fi (required during installation)
- Start the Calamares installer
- Select installation options
- Disk partitioning
- Create a user account
- Complete installation and reboot
Prerequisites
- Intel-based MacBook (2013 or newer)
- At least 25 GB free space
- Bootable USB drive (Rufus for Windows, balenaEtcher for macOS)
- Backup of critical data
Post-Install
After installation completes and your Mac reboots into devOS, proceed to the Getting Started guide for initial setup.
